I have been working for the last seven years。這位教授大為吃驚,他認為國二生會寫這種句子,很不容易。

1. For all the local people, as me, we do not actually
hope to adopt English as our primary Language.
We do have profound feelings and appreciations
to our language (The Mandarin), and also , we have responsibilities
to keep and maintain for the everlasting of our cultures.
Thus, I think that, for the most ones in the country,
they could only accept English to be an very necessary and
important Language that will be unconditionally
spent enough of time to learn and be let it be used so often in order
to realize enough profit and efficiencies in the learning curves
and in the practical civil activities, but not deem English
as our primary Language.
On the other way, indeed on the course of long history
, may be someday, every body will use English much more often than Chinese.
Yet, it should be developed in free styles.

2. We do also recognize that English Grammar is so structuralized
than others.
Also, for my limited understandings that Chinese Language and literature products
may be the few ones that are in the same levels of complexities,
sophisticated constructed, abundantly accumulated and diversely developed
, as that of English.

3. Our main applications of English may focused on the practical user demands and the topological strategies for the middle to long-term investment
for the country.
We hope that, our country could accelerate to arrange the amount of times in the primary and high schools to let our students to get enough courses and time to learn.
The motivations, however may be located on using English as our necessary powerful tools to let us have good efficiencies to build and develop many scientific and commercial businesses.
And hope these views will be nicely helpful for both practical considerations and for ideal modelings in the structure of our Englsh educations.
best regards,

•標題:English vs. Mandarin
On the world stage, each and every player has to speak English.
If we insist on speaking “Mandarin” only or speak lousy English, then we will be the lone wolves on Earth.
Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. are in the same family of language system.
English, French, German, Spanish, etc. are in another family of language system.
These two families are fundamentally different.
It is not rare that some people master 10 languages.
However, these 10 languages usually are in the same family.
It is hard to cross family boundaries.
Eventually, our fellow Taiwanese citizens will have to make one of the most important decisions in history on the following two scenarios –
1) Scenario 1 – Mandarin as primary; English as secondary
2) Scenario 2 – English as primary; Mandarin as secondary
In Scenario 1, we will have to keep on learning English for the rest of our life; meanwhile we can not help forgetting it.
It is an endless, tiresome and anguished cycle.
Consequently, we will have to spend less time and effort on developing the real skills and doing the real work.
In Scenario 2, we will use English so often that we will never forget it; meanwhile Mandarin remains our mother tongue.
Consequently, we will be able to spend more time and effort on developing the real skills and doing the real work.
Clearly, Scenario 2 will be beneficial to our well-being.
Language is meant to be a tool. Learning is meant to be fun.
Nobody should compare learning a language with studying quantum electrodynamics.
In fact, we should realize that environment fosters language learning. English is no exception.
There are many different environments which could further our English skill –
1) All-English Individual Environment – Start with yourself. This is the easiest way.
2) All-English Family Environment – Start with looking for an English-speaking spouse. This one is a little bit hard. But if you handle it well, it will payoff. You may also start communicating in English with your current family members.
3) All-English School Environment – Start with 建中, because she is the “Mother of all Battles”. Outlines of its grand plan were previously described in this blog.
4) All-English Entertainment Environment – Of course, all work and no play make Jack a dull boy.
5) All-English Working Environment – Look for employment with a company whose principal language is English.
6) All-English Living Environment – This one is a little bit discreet. I have to let you figure it out yourself.

In response to a recent news –
“私立中小學 准設全英語班”
My advocacy -
建中 needs to apply for a special permit from the City Hall of Taipei.
The permit would allow 建中 to operate in an all-English learning environment.
After English is hard-wired in the brain, the students could be prepared to step on the world stage and take up the new challenges in this ever-evolving 21st century.
From the aspect of civilization, English is the most advanced language.
From the aspect of culture, English is the most abundant language.
From the aspect of globalization, English is the most adopted language.
From the aspect of science, English is the most systematic language.
From the aspect of technology, English is the most utilized language.
From the aspect of fellowship, English is the most popular language.
From the aspect of communications, English is the most understandable language.
From the aspect of practicality, English is the most convenient language.
From the aspect of beauty, English is the most elegant language.
Any other language is a secondary and is OK to be soft-wired.
